Monday, January 7 -- Soil is removed from what
will become the
stage area. This will become the
stage area
with storage underneath for chairs.
The broken
concrete in the foreground is the
temporary
strip in the gymnasium area that
will now be
removed as well.
The broken concrete from the kitchen area is
hauled out. The floor space was needed to
pour the wall panels. Now it must be
removed for the plumbing work to be done.
Tuesday, January 8 -- Gas line joints are welded
above the mezzanine area in the gymnasium.
The excavated stage area is prepared for
concrete work that will be done next week.

Wednesday, January 9 -- The ramp from the
classroom area to the gym area takes shape.
A steel plate is welded to ledgers
on adjoining wall panels.

Thursday, January 10 -- Painters spray a coat of primer to seal the exterior of the building. Rebar work was done along the inside walls.
Strands of rebar from the footings, slab, and
wall panels will strengthen the structure and
bring the floors out to the walls when
concrete is poured next week.

flooring will join up with the concrete floor.

The large pipes in the corner of the
chapel are for the roof drains.
The first set of roof trusses
was delivered late today.

Steel supporting beams will be delivered
and installed this weekend.

Friday, January 11 -- Rebar work nears
completion in the kitchen area.
The entire exterior of the building is
now covered with bright white primer.
This weekend steel supports will be installed.
Saturday, January 12 -- Installation
of steel supports began today.
Iron workers guide a 4000 pound
section into position.
All structural members are fabricated off-site
and assembled at a rate of about one piece
every fifteen minutes.
The larger beams at the back will support the
heating and cooling equipment for the
Education Center.

Once again, a week
with many changes!
