Education Center Construction
Week of
March 3, 2002

Monday, March 4 -- Rain gutters are
installed along the locker room area roof.
Framing work should be completed this week.
Electrical and data boxes need to be placed
before drywall installation can begin.
More work on the stage--note the
stairs on the left side of the photo.
Most of the mezzanine flooring is installed.
Tuesday, March 5 -- This crane spent most
of the day hoisting steel roofing material
onto the roof.
Seen from the equipment well, the newly
papered roof is ready for the outer layer
of steel to be applied.
Inside framing, electrical, ventilation, sprinkler,
and plumbing work continued. This disorienting
forest of steel will soon transform into hallways
and rooms as insulation and drywall are installed
next week.
While news of funding for the construction
continues to be very positive, there is an
increasing shortfall in our general operating
funds. Please keep the day-to-day needs of
CLHS in your prayers and before your congregations. We thank God each day for
the love you show to our ministry!

Wednesday, March 6 -- Work begins on the
supports for the awnings by the gym entrances.
The stairs to the mezzanine area
in the gym were finished today.
Thursday, March 7 -- A view of the
gym from the mezzanine area.
Rain seeped into the building through
unfinished areas of the roof.
Friday, March 9 -- A view across the newly
framed cafeteria—the entrance is just right
of center in the photo.
A pallet of drywall sheets is delivered. Insulation
and drywall work should begin next week.
A beam of light shines through a hole in
the roof. Framing work on the stage area
is seen in the background.
Sink vents for lab station sinks
were installed in the science lab.
Support poles for gym entrance
awnings were set in concrete today.
Look for the Crossing the Finish Line video in
your congregations over the next few weeks.
Only 175 days until the dedication service!
