Education Center Construction
Week of
August 18, 2002

Monday, August 19 -- Access ramps were
poured by curbs in the parking area.
A concrete drive for fire department
access was also poured today.
Curbing and paving extends some 70 ft.
past the CLHS property line to provide a
smooth transition to the narrower street.
Tuesday, August 20 -- The Education Center
passed final fire inspection today. Only a few
hurdles remain to full occupancy.
Thursday, August 22 -- Workers drill holes
along the walkways where railings will be
placed tomorrow.
Installation of sprinklers continues along Central
Ave. It will be good to see some greenery soon.
Some computers have been
set up in the computer lab.
We expect permission to occupy any day. Pray
that all goes smoothly these last few days.
Friday, August 23 -- This most costly of all
campus parking spots will hopefully never be used.
Workers install rails around stairs and ramps.
Several loads of organic material were delivered
to amend the decomposed granite soil. Plants
should go in by Tuesday.
A number of queen palms were moved
to the front of the Education Center.

The County of Riverside granted a temporary occupancy permit today
(8-23-02). This will
allow us to move in and make use of the Education Center. The permanent permit will
follow upon completion of some remaining details. The last major hurdle of the project has
been crossed and for this we give our thanks and praise to God. He alone has made this
possible. May this building be a useful tool for ministering to the teens of California—
preparing them for a life of service to the Lord and for an eternity with Him in heaven!
