Program Overview
California Lutheran High School is a college
preparation high school with a reputation for high academic
standards in an extremely friendly and safe environment. While maintaining
high academic standards, California Lutheran High supports its
international students
through a full English as a Second Language ("ESL") program
with an advisor to assist the needs of international
students. About 30 students live in the dormitory and 70 students
travel daily from both Riverside and San Diego Counties. Our school
offers a wide variety of curricular and after school activities throughout
the year which gives our students the opportunity to excel in many
areas.
Type: A private college preparatory
high school; grades 9-12. California Lutheran High School has operated
since 1977and is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod
(WELS) which has supported Lutheran education for over 150 years. WELS
schools represent the
fourth largest private school system in the United States. California
Lutheran High School is SEVIS approved.

High School is accredited through the Western Association of schools
and Colleges (WASC)
Location: California Lutheran
High School is located in Wildomar, CA. Our school is 1 hour from
Los Angeles and 45 minutes from San Diego. Our beautiful 10 acre
campus is within minutes from many universities and colleges in Southern
California.
School enrollment: 105 students.
Our student/teacher ratio is 15 to 1.
Housing for students: There
are two residences that house 32 students. We have a male and a female
dormitory supervisors that live in the residences and are on duty
24/7.
International Support: Our international
recruiter and advisor supports our international students with day-to-day
needs, communicates with parents, assists with necessary medical
needs and many other personal areas important to our international
students.
Transportation: Los Angeles
International Airport is 1 ½ hours away from our high school.
San Diego International Airport is 1 hour and fifteen minutes away. Flights
from all over the world arrive at either Los Angeles International
or San Diego International airports.
School year calendar: Classes
begin on August 25, 2008 and end June 6, 2009
ESL Courses: Our school provides
a four (4) week training course in English as a Second Language.
We require our international students to enroll in our four week
course which begins in mid August. We also provide a weekly evening
ESL class. Our ESL classes are conducted by qualified instructors.
College Preparation Coursework: As
an accredited school, our curriculum meets the required entry standards
for all colleges and universities.
Academic/College Guidance: Special
assistance is given for course planning and college/university planning
and preparation. We have a college advisor on staff who can guide
in course selections. Assistance is available in making visits to
university campuses.
Academic Help available: After
school tutoring is available; scheduled study halls with supervision
during the day and evenings; TOEFL and SAT/ACT preparation classes
are provided on campus.
Average ACT/SAT Results: California
Lutheran High School average ACT score - 28; USA score - 21. California
Lutheran High School average SAT score - 1695.
Total Cost: $24,095.00 - This
includes the application fee, enrollment fee, tuition fee, ESL
classes, ACT/SAT preparation classes, residence and the cultural
experience fees.
