Natural Range
Crane flies are found all over the world. The type of crane fly that we see probably inhabits the pacific coastal states. The most concentrated population of crane flies in the world is in the LA basin.

Interesting Facts
They have the nickname Skeeter Eaters because they eat mosquitos. Many people are afraid of Crane Flies because they look like mosquitos. Most adult crane flies are perfectly harmless, dying within a few days of adulthood (they lack the capability to eat). They are also patheticaly bad fliers.

The Crane Fly and CLHS
