The American Kestrel is the smallest and most numerous of the North American falcons. It has a body length of 9 - 12 inches, a wingspan of 20 - 24 inches, and weighs 3 1/2 - 5 1/2 ounces.

Interesting Facts
Formerly known as the Sparrow Hawk, the American Kestrel is among the most vocal birds of prey. It's able to hover for prey on rapidly beating wings.
