Interesting Facts
The Cooper's Hawk has a body lenght of about 14 to 19 inches. It's wingspan is about 2 to3 feet and weighs about 10 to 20 ounces.The Cooper's Hawk eats small to medium birds and mammals. They eat food equivalent to 12% of their body weight daily. The hawk hunts by perching on a branch and scanning for its prey.. Then when the prey is seen, it attacks it with a great burst of speed.

The Cooper's Hawk and CLHS

The Cooper's Hawk can be occasionally spotted flying high in the sky above CLHS. Occasionally the Cooper's Hawk will perch on the branches and wait to search for its pray.
