Interesting Facts
The house finch was native to southwestern
America, but in 1940 a whole bunch of them got let loose in Long Island,
New York and started breeding and are now all over Canada.
The House Finch at CLHS
The house finch is very common to our campus here
at CLHS. They lived in our gym during the construction of our new building.
At that time we found a bird's nest full of house finch eggs in the rafters.
They also come to eat out of
our bird
feeders
daily.
