two doves feed on one of their favorite foods, seeds. usually you will not
see doves alone, and as you can see in this picture there are two eating.

Interesting Facts
Mourning doves feed their young with crop milk(pigeon
milk) for the first three days after hatching. Mourning doves are named this
for the sound of their calls. These sounds sound like mourning.

The
Mourning Dove at CLHS
The mourning doves at CLHS are most of time on high
places such as trees or telephone wires. Occasionaly they can be found on the
ground in cover for protection. They can also be seen picking for seeds beneath
the bird feeder.
