Natural Range
Bobcats are found mainly in the United States near the mountains where they can find plenty of water. They like rocky hills covered with rocks and bushes where they can hunt many types of prey. Click here to see a distribution map.

Interesting Facts
Although the bobcat usually eats rabbits and hares, it is also capable of taking down a deer with its powerful strength. To avoid making much noise when chasing their prey, they run by placing their back feet in the same place that their front feet had been.

The Bobcat and CLHS

No one remembers seeing a bobcat on our campus, but they do live in our area. It has been seen in the hills and mountains around CLHS.
