Natural Range
This cute creature is found from central Texas, up to southwest North Dakota, west to southern Montana, down to Arizona and the deserts and valleys of central and southern California. They like warm weather mostly. Click HERE to learn more about it.

Interesting Facts
The female is larger than the male. It is most active in the later evening and early morning. They can also swim and run up to fifteen miles per hour. They make a perfect 45 degree angle cut when they bite into plants.

The Desert Cottontail and CLHS

The Desert Cottontail lives around our campus here at CLHS. Sometimes in the mornings you can see one peeking out behind one of the old buildings. In the evenings you may see a dozen or more on the football field.
