Natural Range
The apricot tree is grown all over the world. The most common states that grow apricots are California and Washington.The fruit will only be produced where it is warmer. Frost, rain, and other harmful conditions can easily ruin the apricot fruit.

Interesting Facts
The apricot has a short shelf life of 1-2 weeks. It has many similar aspects of the peach. The flowers are usually white or pink and surprisingly don't need a pollinizer. The seeds of the apricot are used for making the drug laetrile, a possible therapy for cancer. Although apricot trees seem harmless, the twigs, leaves, and seeds are poisonous.

The Apricot Tree is located just behind the dorms. It has been beautifying our campus for a number of years. Although it has beauty, our tree commonly doesn't not produce much fruit.
