Natural Range
The California Sycamore ranges from Mexico to the Sacramento valley into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. They do not do very well in the northern parts of California. They thrive in central and southern California and in Mexico.

Interesting Facts
The California Sycamore can grow up to 100' tall. The trunks can be 5' in diameter. This type of sycamore needs moist soil that does not dry out. The leaves on the California Sycamore are 6"-10" in width and length. The color of them changes little in the Fall season.

The California Sycamore and CLHS

At CLHS we have two California Sycamores. They are at the front of our school on Central Avenue. They are not in full bloom right now, but when they are they look gorgeous!
