Molding the Christian Leaders of Tomorrow

We proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ for eternal salvation and teach the unchanging will of God, as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, for guidance in living. We build lives on the Christian values of love, respect, faithfulness, and service to others through a program of excellence in education in academics, athletics, and the arts.  We do this to train the next generation of Christian church and world leaders all to the glory of God.

Ryan Smith Signs With Tulane University PDF Print E-mail

Ryan Smith signs his letter of intent to play for Tulane University

Parents and Friends of CLHS,

I am pleased to announce that Ryan Smith has verbally committed
to Tulane University.

Ryan is proof that hard work pays off!

Ryan is proof that a player does not have to play at a big time
HS program in order to get recruited.

Ryan is proof that recruits can say "no" to those HS coaches who
tried to recruit him away, and he still earned a scholarship.

Ryan is proof that a high school coach and travel ball coach can
work together for the best of the athlete.

We've had many athletes from CLHS go on to play college athletics.
Ryan is the first C-Hawk to sign with a D-1 school for basketball.
Not only that, but Ryan is the only senior basketball player in our
area encompassing 20+ high schools to sign with a D-1 school.

I'd like to thank Ryan's teammates and coaches through the years! They pushed him, challenged
him, and
encouraged him to be a great player.  Sure it helps to be 6'11" and 238 pounds,
but thestudent and coach
relationships built over 4 years were an integral part of getting
to this day.

For every Ryan Smith, there's a Robert Riesenberg, Phillip Harrison, Noah Schriefer, Matt Correia, Joseph Shiery,
Ben Schober, Weston Dyrssen, Luke Rosenbaum feeding the post in practice and games; making the
"Big Country" play big!

(Please Print off and Return with Check or day of camp)

PURPOSE:

This is a low-cost basketball camp that is offered to all students entering grades 5-9.  It is an opportunity to improve the basketball skills that are often neglected during the summer months.

 WHAT MAKES OUR CAMP DIFFERENT:

The key element to the C-Hawk Basketball Camp is that all instruction and encouragement is Christ-centered.  Campers will be reminded that all of their gifts and abilities come from God, and it is up to each one of them to use them to the best of their ability.  Each session will begin with devotion, and prayers will be led by the camp personnel.

 PROGRAM:

All campers will be taught the fundamentals of basketball: dribbling, shooting, passing, etc.  They will also be given quality instruction on offensive and defensive strategies from the coaching staff.  All attendees will gain basketball, teamwork, and life skills that will prove to be valuable well beyond their week on campus.
